“It’s What’s Happening Now!”
Buddy Childers Big Band
Candid Records (CCD 79749)
This is the latest recording of the Buddy Childers Big Band, with some of the
best studio musicians in Los Angeles. Recorded at Dick Hamilton’s Studio, in
LA, and released by Candid Production in 1998.
Outstanding solo work by
Buddy, Andy Martin, and others. Wonderful arrangements of some great standards by
Buddy Childers. A couple of great vocals by Tierney Sutton, chair of the
jazz vocal department at the University of Southern California. Buddy says, “To
call her a ‘singer’ or a ‘vocalist’ just doesn’t do her justice. She is
much, much more. She’s a great musician!” This is one COOKIN’ big band and CD!
