Phil Kelly and The SW Santa Ana Winds
    Origin Records (82468)

We didn't think Phil Kelly could top his last CD, “Convergence Zone” with his Northwest Prevailing Winds, but he did! Phil was back in LA for this session with a band he calls the Southwest Santa Ana Winds. He’s earned the reputation that allows him to be able to call up the best players anywhere to play his arrangements which he continues to turn out.

The present band includes many of the most prominent LA studio/jazz musicians plus several core stalwarts that appeared on “Convergence Zone,” like Bill Ramsey, Jay Thomas, Andy Martin, and Pete Christleib.

Listen to the sound bytes, and if they are as appealing to you, as they are to us, please add this CD to your big band jazz collection.
